"Impediments To Change "  [Reflections on Book The End Of College ch 5b]

You can take the boy from farm,
But he’ll always give a darn
For the home-farm entity –
“Let of my alma matter be”.

Regulations by the score
Come from governmental store,
Which is placed in status quo –
“Ticket states how much you know”.

Jobs are what it’s all about;
Paradigms can shift in route,
“But don’t mess with one my friend –
College walls say we won’t bend”.

Autodidact is just fine
In our classrooms – half the time
Prof’s at research – there to learn;
“Face-to-face is how I learn”

On and on reluctance goes,
Though through tech-tools students know
Just as much as face-to-face,
“We’re the top in any case”.

But that ship is turning ’round,
Slowly, lest in storm it’s found;
Albatross, white elephant –
In their days were elegant.

Thanks Lord for this.
