"Operations" [Viet Nam Series" #5/6] (I Cor. 15:24-28; Acts 1:8)]

Op’s are a middle-ground, not here or there;
Places called theaters you can tell where
Soldiers are working, and battles take place;
Win some and lose some – both might be the case.

Strategy, tactics, I wrote of before,
One is big picture in business and war;
One speaks of ways to conduct one’s offense,
Or in alternative make one’s defense.

There in the middle-ground forward and back,
Lie operations, not whole scene at that,
Or just some small part – that’s seen to take place
In operation sub-chunk in this case.

One might be forward in part of this scene
While one is back where some damage has been;
Or, all are forward, a push on all fronts,
Let’s get this over, all op’s act at once.

Take here in missions by continents viewed
Each is an op when this middle-ground’s viewed;
Or viewed as cultures, or sectors of biz;
Needs quite distinct, so addressing each is –

Thought through above it, below it is fought
Tactically, practically – soldiers are taught
How to obey, act as unified whole;
That way they each can achieve larger goal.

Missions like bombing a city to bits
Each taking part, breaking will to resist;
Hasty retreats – fight again ’nother day;
Prolong the fighting when best to give way.

I view as op Jesus’ three years on task,
Building His down-lines, as each moment passed;
First there were four men, then twelve, seven-two,
Mentoring mentors to reach me and you.

So what’s the op that you act in today?
Christ as your Lord, where’s the place you obey?
Strategy’s given by Paul in the book,
Tactics in Gospels – so go take a look.

But operations are many today;
Where do you fit, where you live, work and play?
What’s the objective at Christ’s middle-layer,
Your “Operation” in which you’re a player?

Up on the Kingdom-layer, sketched out with ease,
All operations defined, if you please,
In such a way as to limit your task
To place with boundaries, scene is not vast.

Mine’s about money, economy, biz,
Finance and giving – discerning that is
Spirits by asking, and probing throughout
People and actions – what each is about.

I’ve got some tools for my input and out;
I’ve got a process, what I am about;
As I proceed with some action each day,
Several the targets of words I obey.

So, “This and that” is how I would describe
Orders received, Kingdom trained, though a scribe –
Poetry, novels, and photographs too
That’s role I play as I engage with you.

Thanks Lord for this.
