"Visual Literacy " [Photographic Communication #2] [Photo Index # 3: 2 ] [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

It helps to know a picture’s way,
When it is seen to shift and sway
The hearts, and minds, and spirits too,
Of viewing folks, like me and you.

We speak of getting literate
In terms of words – because of it
We now say that of visual,
Like words – quite loose, or literal.

One man said, start with people there
Who interact, expressing care
With symbol of some part of life,
In fitting setting – day or night.

Those things, he said, will help your pix –
Make pictures pop, each error fix;
Success is ’bout a proper mix
Of those four things, or else its nixed.

Art-form, unused for greater part,
Lies there untapped for you to start
Expressing photographically
A world within, and what you see.

As you depict the world you’re in,
You bring your half – a chat begins –
Each viewer brings a half as well,
As hearts engage, and yarns we tell.

Thanks Lord for this.
