"Power " (Ps.11:2; Luke 22:24-30 ) [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

It’s not about their genitals, their preference, even sex;
It’s all about a power-play, and who’ll be ruler next;
Once that is seen for what it is, the rest makes total sense,
And we can walk, and freely talk, not sit here on the fence.

Oppressed say they would overthrow oppressors in their world;
But that’s not true – “Oppressors be” is more their flag unfurled –
“I’d like to give you what I felt was smashing on my head –
A big boot with your foot in it, by which we have been led”.

Christ said, “In world they lord it over others as they lead;
It shall not be that way with you, instead I’d have you feed
The people given to your care – forswear such pushy ways,
And gently walk your walk in Me, as you walk out your days.”

So don’t be cowed by pushy types who shoot from shadows dark,
At those who walk their walk of life, and upright are in heart;
You have a right to live your life, as they do here as well;
’Tis best that neither one of you turn life to living hell.

A friend of mine, a preacher was, had quip he liked to say –
“It is not true, but preaches well”, by which he’d found a way
To laugh at his profession, and the fact that no one sees
The whole of life, it’s God who does, who by His Spirit leads –

Us into truth as we press on from where we are today,
Into the fullness of His love, by Whom we find our way;
Lord, as we move along from here, release us from our pride,
And by Your Holy Spirit help us all enjoy the ride.

Thanks Lord for this.
