"Photographic Best Practice #8 - Practice Dis-Engagement " [Photo Index : 1:8] [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

Here is the twin of practice seven –
Held in the balance “earth” and “heaven”;
Engaged in world we first must be,
But dis-engaged from it – we see.

Our plans, our way of doing life,
Our focus on our husband – wife,
Obsession with our family tree,
Can interfere with how we “see”.

Pre-visualize? Or shoot to script?
Lock on to vision, we are licked;
“Holistic” more, is how to be
If we would really come to see.

“Need to control” deceptive is –
It blocks our seeing, flattens fizz;
When driven by internal force,
We fail to see life’s great resource.

Get inside scene, but then stand back;
Prepared, recall that you still lack
Awareness “present moment” brings –
The part through which each photo sings.

Get inside others, outside you;
Participate in others’ views;
Be sensitive, apply your thought;
Instinctive – curious – you ought –

To wonder more, caught up in awe;
By grace step out from rigid law;
Our Kingdom-layer gives such a view –
“Engaged detachment” – life renewed.

Thanks Lord for this.
