"Photographic Social Constraint #1 - Competition " [Photo Index : 2:1] [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]
We work each day with photographs;
Coerced? Sometimes – but all can laugh
When taking, making, pix our way,
Though social world must have its say.For we’re like trees in forest bright –
We have our days and darkest nights,
But we’re a part of forest green –
Constraints are part of social scene.“Competitive” is part of life
In Western world – unspoken fight
For resource, options, light of day,
And chance for us to have our say.When we annoy – our rival wins;
When we disdain “the small” – begins
A losing of our souls each day –
Big oaks from acorns find no way.To photograph in world today
Means “Change”, as new techniques hold sway –
Computer world eats yesterday,
As precious pictures melt away.Now each of us can automate;
No skill? We still participate,
Until a problem shows its head –
Then we are stuck ’till we are fed.Some win with massive cash and time –
Appears to us their upward climb
Is graced with head start we don’t have;
But here, I think we have this salve –Go slow, build solid, stop and see
Just who you are; that all are free;
That all can learn what’s underneath
Technology – pull up a seat –And learn from YouTube, Internet,
Get out and shoot what’s not shot yet;
“Best buys” are cheap once front moves on,
And you can buy things for a song.Constraints to others give a way
For us to win, to have our say –
Stand back and take a different route –
That’s what our freedom’s all about.Thanks Lord for this.
