"The Two Campfires" [Module#442]  (Matt.26:40 etc.)

Our home a haven was for kids,
But now that’s gone for good;
Much better Kingdom-layer above
The world of could and should.

At evening, campfires burning down
To embers on the ground,
Through times of fellowship and yarn
Time comes for moving ’round.

For parting comes as embers die,
And cocoa fades to cool;
Last cookies from the bag are gone,
Then kids return to school.

Camp is a kind of Kingdom-layer,
A taste of better life;
But as it ends the feeling fades,
And day drifts into night.

So how to be about the things
Which in the world make peace?
Live on the Kingdom-layer in Christ,
Where options never cease.

There is a campfire in the sky,
Two fires are burning bright;
Around one is the attitude
“They wrecked it in the night”.

But ’round the other fire there is
A lot with other view –
“Things were not right, that offered up
So much for us to do”.

I like the attitude I hear
In second campfire there;
So as I live this Kingdom-life
Up here on Kingdom-layer –

I strive to do my life in Christ,
Stay in each other’s lives,
That in the end ’round campfire two
We’ll be in yonder skies.

Thanks Lord for this.
