"Fruit That Abides" [Module#423 - Last Module Summarized]  (John 15:16 a,b,c, not d)

“You didn’t choose me, friend, I say,
But I chose you, and have displayed
My will for you – go bear some fruit
Which will abide, along your route.

It’s fruit of love, from life laid down
Like seed that dies beneath the ground;
For plant that grows producing seed
Has geometric growth from thee.

The Scriptures have come down to us
From many hands, and now we must
Take up the torch and pass it on
To younger ones before we’re gone –

For some, that means we live it out,
In case to others there’s still doubt
That it’s for living not for view
Encased in glass – not meant to do.

To others, that means digital
Or paper from original,
So text itself is there for all,
Like scrolls and paper – best of all –

It’s now a way to ruminate,
Reflect upon its gilded page
In terms of life as seen today,
That others then can read and say –

“I had not thought of that before,
Perhaps I’ll blog, or Skype some more,
So friends and colleagues think that way,
Thus brighten up their soulful day.”

“Long work” gets into us some place
Where we’re of use – in any case,
The Kingdom-layer is there for all,
From which we’re all in place for call –

To do some “This or that” for Christ;
Embody Scripture; thus suffice
To be en-corporated tome,
At work, or school, or maybe home.

At any rate, it’s all set up
To implement, as life is tough;
The Scripture resource, plain to see
Is there to live – passed on to thee.

Thanks Lord for this.
