Thanks, Lord, for layers as a way
Of viewing life from day to day;
To keep me from encouragement’s
Reactive side – I’m not hell-bent –For leather at the meeting’s vote
(Decision made, so they could tote
It up in public, just confirm –
For they’d not come that eve to learn).Of course, that is the rural way,
And with that I am quite okay –
I thank You for the Heebee sheets,
Which keep me going, keep me sweet –So I can “Fix the pipes” as asked
By You, as I’m not sewage class
Of worker – me? I just do pipes
So keep the reactions more than “nice”.For I must stay in You all night;
Today – must not get into fights;
For I’ve some work which must get done
In You – besides that’s much more fun!But “layers” is a nifty tool!
I get to walk around, stay cool,
Without the problems of the Scots
Who “Stuff their feelings” as they walk.Strategic moves or tactical
Are Yours; mine? “Imbecililical”,
As dad would say, long years ago –
He was a giver too, I know.But Lord, it bugs me, by the way,
That he will claim, “I knew” and say
He played that out, knew all the time;
When he, in fact, had naught in mind.O Lord, I hear you say, “Relax –
He did, right brain – he knows; the fact
Is things get done, folks come on board
When floor appears as ‘unto-ward’.“Life works for them – compassion types –
Let life ooze on – skip “wrong and right”,
That’s for perceivers – they just “are”;
That way they get along quite far.“But Stu, it takes a body’s life
To cover all the bases – right
And wrong are also key to Me –
Should be for them – for they should see –“That they’ve a part to play in life
Just like the rest – that they’re all right,
But take a beating, mostly when
The other gifts gang up on them.“So, wind ’er back out there, friend, Stu,
We’ll get ’er done, for I’m with you
And you’re with Me, so walk about
