“Taken Away” (Matt.21:45) [Module #300]
The Kingdom of God, as I read in the book,
Is rented, not owned, and the Owner partook
Of fruit of its produce, for that was its role,
Repairing our mess-up and making us whole.If we don’t get flow-through of newbies for Christ,
The project’s removed and our end is not nice;
If we don’t respond to the project ourselves,
Then end of our living’s not going to go well.We think we’re so smart but if it happened once,
To think we’re immune constitutes being a dunce;
For God wants the job done, as I saw before –
And asks for the produce, so bangs on our door.He gives us our journey of growth in His love;
He gives us our giftings and opening shove;
He gives education, connections, and grace,
For He wants the job done, right here in this place.Our buildings, and programs, and networks of folks,
Where we can have suppers and share our new jokes,
Are there for a purpose – support those just new,
And give us a context to Kingdom-work do.Lord, I am embarrassed – how little we care!
So tied to beginnings and swamped with despair;
Please open our eyes to Your project of love;
Show how to shift people to Kingdom above.Thanks Lord for this
