"Christ's Barriers" [Module #311] (Matt. 23:1-36)

It’s not that Jesus had no foes,
Or barriers – for we all know
He did indeed, but was not stopped
By what they did, or said, or thought.

He carried on, oblivious
To barriers quite obvious;
He didn’t dance, or pussyfoot,
But spoke the truth, did what it took –

To drive his message home to all
Who waited for him through some wall,
Who pined in lonely exile there,
Until His words their lives repaired.

Before the Kingdom came to me,
I saw in punchy pictures we
Could slide, such parables, beneath
Defenses, thus deep passions meet.

But now I see, yes, we can use
Such slights to enemies confuse;
But from above we’ve strong defense,
Made freer now in Christ’s offense –

So “Money’s good for counseling”;
And “Stories delayed truths can bring”;
The “Ashern-acts distractions are”
And “Mentor in a crowd” by far –

Augments our efforts, spills the word
To passersby, who’ve understood
Some fragment of a larger piece,
Then chase that down to find release.

But here’s the change – on Kingdom-layer
We’re freed to be a Kingdom-player,
Without the blockages at all –
When we walk over people’s walls –

We see down into both sides now
So pictures, stories, acts, allow
Us even greater “This and that”
In Christ, who’s thereby freed to act.

Lord, this indeed is liberty!
Release through us Your energy
To do Your Kingdom work at last,
Without the blockages now past.

Thanks Lord for this.
