“Invading Our Space” (Luke 19:5) [Module #269]

Involvement in another’s life and space
Is tricky – it’s not ours – in any case
We need to cautious be, not enter in
To others’ lives, and new life there begin.

The pink of dawning light hits clouds on high,
As sun comes up – we see where life now lies –
Life’s fragile, shallow roots give rapid growth,
But we plowed deep so new life won’t be toast.

I’m glad we did the slow work for today;
We can relax and let the others play
Out roles they have selected as their way
Of doing life – as we now hear them say –

“Who cares about the hindmost – let me see
The ROI I never thought there’d be –
So I am grabbing mine – the center’s “me”
“It’s righteousness or else prosperity” –

“You can’t have both”; “With choice I’ll take the cash
Enough’s enough – just do the things you’re asked”;
“I’m into getting mine”; “I want mine first –
Before tsunami’s waves have done their worst”.

Well, Lord, I get the picture better now;
And elevation helps – this view allows
Me to go forward now without the drag
Of past, or present, future’s weighty bag –

Of sin, or weight of garbage from the past;
We learned a lot; we built all this to last;
When I got here, while working on my own,
I crashed and burned – low resource when alone.

But You had told me to “be being filled”;
“Bring extra oil, by which your lamps are filled”;
It’s okay, there is grace, resource, supply,
For projects I assign – for they’re to fly”.

Thanks Lord for this.
