“But…” (Mark 11:11) [Module #287]
The things we learned of cash as kids in this economy
Are true as far as they can go, but other things I see
Now I’m above the basic layer of life amidst the world,
And do my life in freedom now like little boys and girls.For kids are quite oblivious to adult life around –
They laugh, and talk, and carry on, midst touch, and sight, and sound,
And taste, and smell – the world of sense, with intuition’s gift;
They play in sandbox like their folks – and pout when they are miffed.We learned that life is curved not straight, from geometric growth;
We learned that seeds sown in the ground give seeds and food, for both
Are needed if life’s to go on both now and down the years;
We learned if we take for ourselves, it often ends in tears.We also learned “provision” is quite often as a skill
Which we are given, but we must hone – expressions of our will;
There’s active, passive times in life with preference for each,
And inter-active times as well, some cultures also teach.We learned to take a break from tasks to eat, and drink, and rest;
We learned of Spirit as the base of life, which thus addressed
The mysteries of life around, of birth, and death, and pain;
Of evil and temptation too – God’s love and grace remain –Despite what happens in our lives, or how our neighbors fare;
And how the world is down-side-up; not everybody cares;
But there’s the rub – and it’s a “but” God’s Kingdom can address –
There is a better way to live, once we our sins confess –And we opt into Kingdom-layer above the world as base,
Not different or much better, but, direction’s changed – in place
Of self as center of our world we Spirit-walkers are,
And walk the talk, and talk to walk, though journey may be far –Without the drag of other’s acts, permissions being withdrawn,
We’re freed to let God pour His love each day with coming dawn;
A life of faith, and hope expressed, and love for others lost
We’re freed to live out in the world, despite amount it costs.The ways of mankind varied are, as we develop life
Here on the surface of this globe, encounter day and night;
But most of all there’s light from heaven which shines through all the layers,
And gives a picture of this world affected by its players.So thank You, God, for helping us to sort things out this way;
For giving us a future and a hope that coming days
Might better be because we’re here, with chance to enter in
The rough-and-tumble, in Your love, despite existing sin.Help us to stay in You today, give us Your daily bread;
Help us to move on in our lives, and by Your hand be led;
Be with us in our journey – life is troublesome at best,
So let us go assured by You, and by Your presence blessed.Thanks Lord Fro This.
