“Lazarus – A Life Of Death And Resurrection”
Decisions call for death to former things –
New life needs space, resource nutrition brings
That new might thrive, take up the torch and run
Down different paths, than routes by which we’ve come.It’s scary coming from the grave where we’ve
Been these four days of quiet solitude, then see
A world of choices thrust on us by life
And we now live where half of days are night.But then, the Good News floods our anxious souls,
And inner-light lights pathway to our goals;
All this is new, for up ’till now we’ve gone
Twelve hours in total darkness – nights so long.We see that nothing to forever is;
Now seed and harvest shapes our daily biz;
All institutions slowed by allergy,
As gifts conflict when center’s “only me”.We know a seed must die or bide alone,
All shiny in the bin; when ground’s it’s home
New life springs up – for now it multiplies;
But for new life all former life must die.Lord thanks for raising Lazarus to life;
Thanks for this story shedding greater light
Than I had held in life I’ve lived to date;
And for this time before departure’s date.Thanks Lord for this.
