“Response To Flagrant Need” [Module # 214] (Luke 14:1-4; Proverbs 24:10-12)

What’s our response to flagrant need,
When all around that’s all we see?
Do we reach out on Sabbath day
And heal the broken any-way?”

Or do we wait, withhold our hand?
Stand back, and claim we under-stand
Those dying on some road-side bare –
Then hurry off, withholding care?

As leaders do folks copy us?
Or follow us away from fuss?
Reluctant leader’s still a pain,
For roadside scene is back again.

Hold back from cliff-top danger zone
Those wanderers so far from home;
You say, “There is no God who sees” –
Such travesty – get on your knees –

And plead for eyes made open wide;
For Spirit’s guidance by your side;
For Angel, like with Balaam’s ass;
Then rise, respond, and skip the sass.

For God expresses love for all;
To each He now extends a call
To rise to life’s potential zest,
And meet each challenge with His best.

So Lord, as I start out this day,
Or double-day, show me the way
You wish me to respond to each
You give to me, that all be reached.

Thanks Lord for this.
