“I’ve Been ’Round Here Before” [Module # 222] (Luke 18:1-8)

An interactive way of life
Had been my way, but Andrew’s light
Had made consistent in its form,
That way, so it could be the norm.

My task is making of the maps
Which others use to do their tasks,
Like building bridges ’cross some stream,
In places I had been and seen.

I see where modern roads could go;
Share insights which can help them so
Their ways and means efficient are,
And paths are straight, thus not so far.

To me a book is like a map –
It spells things out, so, reading that
They bring one-half the story there
Hear it complete – their journeys dare.

Today I see I’ve been along
This path – I thought what I was on
Was new – it’s not – it’s quest at start –
Quite spooky as I first embark –

I know one gets to other side,
And benefits are worth the ride;
“Get in, sit down, hang on, shut up” –
That saying for me sums it up –

Not for the others, but for me
It speaks of feelings as I see
What’s going on within my world;
Effects on life when it’s been swirled.

Lord, as I face this day today,
Lift up my countenance and say
The words of guidance which I need,
As on this path I now proceed.

“Stu, ‘this and that’, small parts for you,
Are small, so, small enough to do;
They’re local, grounded, practical –
For baseline that’s diagonal.

“So stay in interactive prayer;
Keep moving on, and it don’t compare
Yourself to others – better than
Your yesterday – press on, my man.

“Unpack the parcels you receive;
Ask for the gifts you now believe
Since time in prayer have come for you –
Assemble, learn, and put to use.

“Sometimes it comes in one big chunk,
But often not – there’s no ker-plunk,
Just steady flow, or smaller parts,
Like shifting tide for Noah’s Ark.”

Thanks Lord for this.
