"The Apostle (Cultural Boundary Jumper)"

’Bout three songs in, it snapped again,
Like neck with chiropractic pain;
Relief and re-adjustment move –
Third-culture-kid felt life approved.

Tom Jackson and his crew of nine
Sang Christmas with his storyline;
For years, two hundred million bucks
Have flooded in to shelters’ cooks.

Deep resonance at culture’s base;
Adjustment in this southern place;
Okay, it’s not the perfect spot,
But they affirmed the life I’ve got.

So thank you, friends, for doing this –
Without adjustment – I have missed
This chance to touch my base again,
And missed this singer’s gentle rain.

Thanks Brenda.
