“The Sacrament Of Silence” [Module # 201] (Luke 22:1ff)

There’s silence when the Holy’s seen,
A silence when before has been
Cacophony of noise and haste,
And frantic mix of active waste.

That need not be – see and be seen;
Work from the truth, upon it lean;
“I am the way, the truth, the light,
Stick close to Me – it comes out right.”

If you are one to play a drum,
Then beat a-way for them to come;
If you would rather teach and guide,
Do so beside the Savior’s side.

Or if you’re more a writer-type,
Concerned to get to the phrasing right,
With action made believable,
Then write ’till more’s available.

A prof I knew of met the Christ,
Which turned his life from death to life,
Re-wrote his lectures A to Zee
Reframed by what he now could see.

He wrote to beat a drum of faith,
But spoke as one who woke up late;
The difference was quite palpable,
And sharing faith acceptable.

Then there’s a woman deaf as stone,
Who plays the drums in groups, alone –
Expresses self, lets others feel
Her inner self, and thus to heal.

For Holy is the silent part
Inside the teacher’s, drummer’s heart;
There’s not one way to share the truth –
The Way itself has many routes.

The Spirit gives to each a gift;
The Son assigns each load to lift;
The Father takes the work we do,
To speak His words, express His view.

Thanks Lord for this.
