“Internal Resistance” [Module # 202] (Luke 20:39; 6:31)
We all like freedom God designed us for;
We get to choose response to open door –
To enter, choose another, slam it tight;
Oh yes! The freedom’s ours – be wrong or right.So too with Christ as He worked in the world –
Authority He had to calm the whirl
Of storms within each life; but most said, “No,
Permission I won’t grant for You to go –“That far with me, because it wrecks my life;
I’d rather have the status quo and strife;
There’s reasons I could give why that is so;
Asta-la-vista, Jesus – off You go!”So, Moses put his parting words upon
The people’s hearts –he taught them all a song;
So when they messaged him, “I should have heard
Your kindly guidance with life-giving word” –They’d have it when the readiness was there;
So too with writing poems – if you dare
To scatter seeds, and leaven to the wind –
In time they find conditions right – begin –To grow into some mighty plant throughout
The world in places only thought about,
But never seen by us – the way it works –
Resistant hearts receive where trouble lurks.“Receive the Spirit – don’t resistant be,”
Said Jesus near the end, for He could see
The greatest gift He’d give when time was right,
They would reject, think that their inner might –Could carry them across their bounding walls
Into some other culture’s sacred halls;
“Deal with your inner style of saying ‘no’,
If into better life you’d sometime go.”Thanks Lord for this.
