"Like Mix Of Fresh And Salty"

Like mix of fresh and salty,
As river flows to sea,
The Mississippi river
Churns up the mix that’s me.

For de-compression’s over,
As holiday flows on;
Once more the work emerges,
Past vistas now are gone.

For ever-flowing river
Of fields and forest glades,
Small towns and major cities,
Are histories we’ve made.

We’re into something bigger,
Where depths, and breadths, and heights,
Beyond all comprehension
Call for His greater might.

Right now the old freshwater
Is mixing with the new;
Saltwater of new venture,
And work You’d have us do.

Lord, grant us grace for living
This last round of Your task;
“Play cards” not “Play the money”;
Fulfill the things You ask.

Not sure where this is leading,
This base You’ve laid through us;
But somehow You’re victorious
Regardless of the fuss.

Lord, bless those people ’round us,
Through us where that is best;
Grace us to let the others
Be channels, rise with zest.

For we are all one body
As YouTube preacher said,
“Stop talking of the failures,
As if Christ’s Church were dead –

It’s not – raise up each other,
And celebrate support
Received from other Christians
In this and every port.

“Do church; just be His body;
Let nothing hold you back;
Resource there is a-plenty,
For aspects which you lack.”

Lord, thanks for this – Your vision
Is wider than the sea;
Help us as we flow in it,
Participate in Thee.

Thanks Lord for this.
