"A Giver-Financier Definition of 'Wrong'" [Reflection on Book - The Brutal Telling]

The Brutal Telling – book we read aloud,
Was greatly layered about a guy quite proud;
A giver-finance type, par excellence,
She had him nailed as ego’s self-defense.

For giver-types view “wrong” as “getting caught”;
But to this end, detective thinks a lot,
And pushes through to see the light of day –
He lets the clues lead him to see his way.

The ending twist shows simply how and why,
Despite the perpetrator’s endless lies,
“He knew my scam, it was not smart by half;
And in the bag he had the final laugh –

“Not laugh at me so much as what I am –
A greedy giver-type involved in scam;
He was one too – takes one to know the type;
He saw, and laughed, I see he got it right.

“But if I let him live, and leave the bag,
They’ll know (with open paths, cut for the nags);
So I must buy some time to slip between
These obstacles, for I am mean and mean”.

Appeal will be quite wide, for other folk
Have seen such people push between the spokes
Of others’ wheels, a stick to get their way,
Then scurry ’round lest others on that day –

See what’s been going on beneath their nose,
And say, “We’ve been deceived” for so it goes;
“Don’t say, ‘No clothes has Emperor’ today’,
For we all want to make-believe as way –

“To live this life as myth, between the real
Of ugliness and greatness of ideal;
Each has a definition of the right
That’s partial, but complete within one’s sight.”

So thank You, Lord, for this fine book to read;
As we do life, it fills another need
For me to see more clearly of the type
I study – giver-finance’s view of right.

Thanks Lord for this.
