"Johnny-Good-Guy"
I feel like Johnny-Good-Guy – “Help all the folks along;
Make everybody happy; and hum a happy song”;
At least that’s on the outside, on inside it’s a mess;
Good thing You’re up in heaven, O Lord, I must confess –That I’m confused as ever, with shambles all around;
That life chugs on as ever, I hardly make a sound;
If You were not sustaining, this little play would end;
These lives You’re resurrecting? On journeys You would send.I’m glad You’ve got a handle, on me, myself, and I;
That You’ve a clear idea where ways through all this lie;
I thank You for Your patience, and ask You for Your grace,
To keep this furrow steady, and hold a steady pace.I need Your patience in me, as I deal with Your folk;
I need Your joy and humor, that I pass on a joke;
I need Your mind and wisdom, that You might speak through me;
I need Your very being, that unified we be.Thanks Lord for this.
