"Remain Aloof" [Fawcett #34] (Matt 17:14-23)

If you’re the one with field command,
Yet you’re not there to take a stand
With those you lead, you’re out of touch,
So little things grow into much.

Like “Don’t dig in, set up defense”,
So when they come there is no pretense
That there’s resistance to their force;
And you capitulate, of course.

But if it’s only one small place,
And otherwise strength is the case,
You can recover, get new men
To lead – not make mistake again.

When Jesus came along one day,
Request came in to make a way
For boy to be in health again –
He’d been prepared to heal the pain.

His men were not – from hand to mouth
They lived their lives – they went about
Their work with “Just in time” as view,
But Jesus took approach quite new –

“Be being filled”, Paul said one time;
“Accept the Spirit, you’ll do fine”;
Just don’t forget to fast and pray,
So you’ll be filled for work today.

Thanks Lord for this.
