"Under Value Local Opposition" [Fawcett #25] (Luke 12:1-3)

He leaves the part about the dope behind,
So to the coalition’s eight he’s kind;
For China is an ancient region there,
With market swamped by dope beyond repair.

But Chinese sought to clean their country up;
Throw out the foreign interests – it was rough
For world around saw China as a place
To raid and draw resource to feed their face.

“Bring heroin from India – our farms –
And trade that for what’s good – don’t raise alarms
At home, just say its ‘missions’ we’re about;
No reason to disturb with facts and doubt.”

The “Fists Of Harmony” stopped boxing air;
Attacked and killed some mission folks out there;
Related to Great Britain’s king as well
As German head – so things did not go well –

For Boxers who had thus invoked the wrath
Of eight great nations – said, “They will be stopped”;
But expedition jumped into the fray
And got pinned down when bridge blew up that day.

Though they got rescued, holed up in the stash
Of Chinese stores and arms, they were no match
For locals wanting them to head back home,
And leave the Chinese folks to live alone.

So if you’re going to be of help, he says,
Make sure the road you choose, secure it stays;
For if it falls, then you’re cut off from friends
And allies with supplies – so venture ends.

But even more, don’t be oppressing them
With face of hypocrites – “We’ve noble ends”,
When all the time you’re there to fill your face,
So squabble’s really just resourcing case.

Thanks Lord for this.
