"Zeroing Your Trip Meter" [Module #149] (Luke 11:10a,b,c)

“The cattle on ten thousand hills”
Are people of His own,
Who in the past were UCC,
But now on hills they roam.

They used to be the core from there,
But exiting has cost –
They have no voice to make things right,
And “loyal” standard’s lost.

But sometimes God has other plans
Than those we use to fix,
Our little scraps and fracases
Which land us in some ditch.

He sends, or leads some folks out first,
So they will be prepared
To lend assistance when things blow,
For they’re no longer scared.

For edge wears off our frazzled nerves,
Our senses settle down;
Through such we each mature (or can),
Then take a look around.

It’s like when we go back to school,
Get edges knocked off so
We are prepared – next level up
Is then where we can go.

Besides, when we do exile-land,
Or graduate degrees,
We build a network of like minds,
New body-life that frees.

For someone has to shape things up
When things have gone awry;
Birds of a feather form their “V’s”,
And arch against the sky.

What were the corners God knocked off
As He prepared your way,
By making you fit your new work
On graduation day?

Once seen, give thanks, then let it go,
Both past and present pain;
Like giving birth, the baby’s here,
Let focus there remain.

What’s done is done; what’s past is past;
The future’s like a door
You asked – received; sought answers – found;
Knock – that’s what doors are for.

Thanks Lord for this.
