"Permission" [Module #148] (Luke 11:10c)

A social life designed for us at first,
Is life where “Ask permission” slacks our thirst
For what we want of life here in this land,
So socially we come to understand.

Hotel’s adjoining doors confront us now –
Our door’s ajar, but that’s all they’ll allow
Without permission to advance some more;
So knocking let’s us see what is in store.

Up north a door, as such, was never used –
More openness of verb-forms – when abused –
Infraction was of major consequence;
Live and let live was how they did life’s dance.

Our active, passive, middle voice in life,
Is social aspect – we avert a fight
If we adopt a lifestyle with a knock
As centerpiece of how to daily walk.

The loop’s about authority from Christ;
Permission comes from people – sounded advice –
To keep those straight, and knock when doors are closed –
“To him who knocks it opens” – Goodness knows.

Thanks Lord for this.
