"Knock-Knock - Who's There?..." [Module #145] (Luke 11:9c)
“Knock knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Bear.”
“Bear who?”
“Beats me – I wonder if anybody’s thought an answer for that one?”*****
A lot of folks have “Knocked me up”
(As Brits would say), and sure enough,
Their needs required a steadied hand,
As they traversed this wacko land.Sometimes they’d heard, “You talk with folks”
(Not many come to hear my jokes);
But they have come quite steadily –
Not lots, not few – just right for me.I’ve also knocked on others’ doors,
When help I’ve needed, life was more
Than I could deal with as a guy
Out here alone – some “What” or “Why” –Elusive to my stumbling mind;
Sometimes it’s others who are kind –
Like tangerine-man in the snow
When world collapsed – somehow he’d known.“Son-kissed” he’d been as he’d walked through
This world with us, that’s how he knew
I needed help that Christmas time
To know his folks were also mine.“They’re from my home to yours”, he’d said;
It’s Christ who through the snow had led
Him to my door, this gift to give,
That through such winter-time I’d live.“Knock knock” – “Who’s there?” I’d asked of Christ;
“It’s me”, He’d said, “grace will suffice
To get you through the road ahead –
Behold! I’m risen from the dead!”Thanks Lord for this.
