"Almost..."
“Almost I am persuaded”, said King of long ago,
To Paul, the feisty prisoner who spoke that he should know;
But people change quite slowly, through stages make a shift
From place where they first started to new location’s gift.So, last night at the session – generic overview –
They treated all and sundry to one thing – old and new;
No focus on the issue which lies right at the root
Of their creation topic – “Why Adam got the boot”.The issue is not process – for no one understands –
As God to Job addressed it, “You did not lend a hand,
Nor were you My advisors, you did not think this up;
And when it comes to concept, the bunch of you are nuts”.For us, all great religions (or faiths to use that word),
Do not come under “knowledge”, for that would be absurd;
The essence of the concept is “No one knows for sure”;
To say that faith is knowledge for all has great allure.“It’s fifty-fifty, Charlie, for we don’t have a clue;
Some say, “God did it this way”, and adamant their view;
While others say, “No that way”; “No, more a touch of this” –
We stumble in the darkness, but mostly see amiss.But “process” is quite a minor, a flavor of the day;
The crux for all’s “believing how all came into play”;
Since Adam in the garden we’d rather walk alone –
Two trees in garden standing, a choice of food and home.Instead of saying “Knowledge – we have it and it’s true”
(You just repeat their error, which makes a fool of you),
Or saying “You’re believing – we know, and you believe”
Say, “Hey! – we’re both believing – good day” and take your leave.For Western folks are easy – “Say anything’s the core –
Say hope, or love, or family, or cash and jewels galore;
But just don’t say it’s Jesus, or God, or Spirit-mush”;
For them that is the limit – where they say, “Hold, enough!”.They can’t acknowledge “Lordship”, or “Kingdom of our God”,
They call it antiquated, such faith they view as odd;
So, “Anything but Jesus, the Father, Spirit, first”
For all that is the issue – “What’s center – best or worst?”They almost had it – closer, than I have heard before –
“It’s spin on common data” – but push that even more
