"Six Twelves"  [Module #117] (Luke 9: 57-61; Matthew 8:19-22)

Six times twelve is seventy-two;
Grade-school math – it made us blue;
But if prof had mentioned that,
Six times two – I’d know it flat.

Mentoring goes on that way –
Six times two is twelve, and hey!
Put each pair in charge of twelve –
Bang! Results could totals swell.

More than that, it costs a lot
Mentoring when the sun is hot,
There in land of desert sand;
Here as well, in frozen land.

Then, Apostleship has costs,
Slipping culture’s borders; tossed
High upon some stormy sea,
Reaching out to you and me.

Everybody who shows up
Is not given; two’s enough;
Even several couples – twelve –
Is a handful, so think well –

Some who come short-contact make,
Then they go for heaven’s sake;
They’re replaced when two by two –
Settle in to learn from you.

If within your working pairs,
You disciple, show deep care,
Then it will take care of self –
More and more get off the shelf.

Where are you within this mix?
Do you mentor in your tricks?
Cycles ten have farmer’s cows,
Staying fresh offspring allows.
