"How It's Done Today"  [Module #92] (John 7:12ff)

To kill a person here today,
Just get him fired – the loss of pay
Will shut him up, or her, of course,
It’s hard to ride without a horse.

In Canada you need a group;
If by yourself, you’re in the soup;
Suspicious are you when you’re one –
“Who jerks your chain?” You need someone –

To be the social suasion guy;
Who, on behalf of others, cries,
“Back off, my friend, or spouse, or kin,
Or huge the pickle you’ll be in”.

They tried that route in Jesus’ day;
He laughed and sent them all away –
“My brothers, sisters, and my kin,
Comply with life I guide them in.

If you live free amongst the trapped,
It impact has – folks seeing that
Respond to you – choose freedom too,
Or turn, attack, destroying you.

So, how to minimize the pain?
How walk as free amongst the lame?
Like working in a swarm of bees –
It’s randomness of acts which ease –

The fears of those quite paranoid
Of differences, who thus avoid
All shifts from normal life they hold,
Rejecting those who live as bold.

The ultimate in randomness,
Is Spirit-walking – even this,
Will not suffice at end of day,
For life in Christ, they’ll blow away –

All those who march to different drum;
So die to life before you run
The race Christ sets before each one –
Alive in Christ you’ll then become.

With death now past, it matters not
What then befalls you – push for top
Of life – no one now holds you back,
Or jerks your chain to keep on track.

Thanks Lord for this.
