"Fifth Biz"  [Module #102] (John 7:48-52)

Old Nicodemus had some guts,
Though other fellows thought him nuts –
“Should we not hear Christ answer doubt,
Before we try to throw Him out?”

In that he did his “this and that”,
A simple question he asked flat-
Out in the meeting – stopped the show
A moment, ’fore they came to blows.

A few lines on, Christ did that too
With woman brought, whose neighbors knew
She had been caught while messing ’round
With someone else, as she’d been found.

He asked as well, “How ’bout you folks?
You’ve blown it once or twice? You blokes
Should in a mirror look each day,
Before you boldly act this way.

For Christ it worked, freight train got stopped;
Not so for Nick, he got out – talked
How ’bout for me, this day or night?
Will this and that set things aright?

It matters not – for us, obey;
Give God some room through what we say
Or do; stand back and watch the fun,
As God moves in, His will is done –

Within our crazy mixed up world,
A dance it is, sometimes a swirl
Of color, sound, and sensual feast,
At which He sups – folks get released.

Lord, as I walk life’s trail today,
Keep me attuned to what You say;
Responsive to Your crazy will;
In-joy-ing life here for us still.

Thanks Lord for this.
