"Creds"  [Module #101] (John 7:45-52)

It’s all about the creds –
“In Scripture we have read
What type of man He’ll be –
He’s not, that’s plain to see!”

And yet, when we read this,
Experience the kiss
From heaven’s kingdom come,
To us it lifts a ton –

Of weight from weary lives;
Relieves our mighty sighs;
Brings joy from deep within,
Pushed down by weight and sin.

Locked in, yet door’s unlocked;
Released, and out we’ve walked;
Held down by glass removed
(Experience that proved –

“Why try, it hopeless is?”
Like starting up a biz
In Canada today,
“It’s all for naught”, they say.)

Nay-Sayers in and out
Build up our inward doubt;
But prayer dynamics give
Today a way to live.

It’s Spirit-walking now
That opens what and how,
In places we can’t see
How future life can be.

“Give me some space to be;
My works of power you’ll see;
Just ask for what I’ve given;
How far can you be driven –

In present-future case,
I won’t outstrip your pace;
Abide in me, you’ll see,
A world you dreamed could be”.

So creds have place, of course,
But life without remorse
Is just a Spirit-walk
Away from problem-talk –

Into a world of joy,
Of faith we can employ,
Of hope that rises up,
Of love that’s often tough.

For creds are used to stop,
Not open what we’ve got;
Their downside use in world,
Perpetuates the swirl.

God gives authority
To be what we should be;
Permission comes from folks –
Withheld – on them’s the joke.

Thanks Lord for this.
