"Kids And Families"  [Reflections on Chris Orwig's Book Visual Poetry - Chapter 6 - Generally] (Matt 19:13-15; 1 Cor:13:8-12 )

With kids and families you can tell about
Photographer – what’s deep inside – no doubt;
Reactions of the kids caught by the lens,
Depict, reflect, the feelings children send.

It’s better to engage, join in their world
Of monkey bars, or roller-blades that whirl;
Or make-believe, authentic not pretend,
And then, perhaps, good feelings they will send.

You have a camera – license to affirm;
Be goofy; ask to play; their lifestyle learn;
Let them make choices, give suggestions too;
Don’t be the king of world in all they do.

Detect, hook into tempo of their lives;
The things that you bring up quite oft survives
The shoot – they come on back to picturesque
Locations where some times were just the best.

The interface of friends and families,
Will draw them both into what then will please;
Shots taken in-between quite oft will catch,
A fleeting piece of life about a match.

The use of props and actions fills each mind
With normal life, and dreams far from the grind;
Demystify your tools – give kids a turn –
It’s often how careers in life are learned.

Location, as in housing’s central here –
Each has a mood or tone – helps folks appear
The way they are, or better, dream to be;
Just like yourself when with your family.

Thanks Lord for this.
