Where To Today?

Well, here we are, amidst a shambled context to start out;
Not sure if it is better than a clear state round about;
But it is mine – so strange in ways to be back at the first,
Well trained lest future (like the past) might turn out to be worse.

So, where today? As I set out to take a different way
Than that to here – or even from the first, our starting day,
Those years ago when we set foot at start of Sandy Lake –
Well trained I was, but post-grad training was then on the slate.

“Once settled in, get lay of the land; form links to working peers;
Acquaintance make with those who’ll be the focus of next years;
See what’s to learn about your context as you dive right in;
Take stock of job which now appears – (it’s changed) ’fore you begin.”

So what has changed? From back to forward went my strategy;
Now tactics shift to forward as the rest quite soon shall see;
I’m on the move – O Lord, I thought this day would never come;
The launch-pad crane falls back, I see, it’s role at last is done.

Lord, keep me here with You as I start out this working day;
As dawn arrives, help me fulfill at work Your will today;
The thrill in me finds freedom in this brand new enterprise,
As I engage in life emerging here – before my eyes.

Thanks Lord, for this.
