Turn Right (Rom. 8:13 with 1 Peter 1:22)

Sometimes tasks were given to do
Take us there – like pushing you
From the ditch – ‘one-off’ it's like,
Hit and run – a task that's light.

Other times it gets us there,
Thinking we will long repair
At such task, locale, event –
"One per lifetime" when we're sent.

Peter speaks to tougher gig –
Quickly in – we jerry-rig
Some solution, quickly done;
Then we see, we've just begun.

That's when Peter says – "Go deep";
Sometimes it's in depth we meet
Challenges which stretch our faith –
Challenge to participate.

Not from outside, looking in,
But from inside, life begin
Where the task gives deeper view,
Deeper work which we must do.

Walk in truth will take us there,
Down a canyon – end is where
We look right, see light of day
Urging us, "Now go this way".

Lord, there is no going back;
To the right I view the track
Spoken back at journey's start;
Grace me lest I miss this mark.

Thanks, Lord.
