Graced Victory (Romans 7:24-5)

When faced with sin I'm much alive,
To righteousness, I'm dead;
It's like a law – no point to strive;
Its gravity – I'm lead.

I hold my keys in front of me,
And drop them to the floor;
I mind-control them just to see –
No go – try one time more.

That's what it's like, I cannot win,
Oh wretchedness, indeed!
Who will deliver – friend? Or kin?
This is a desperate need.

Then Jesus whispers in my ear,
"Raise other hand beneath
Your keys, and keep it somewhat near,
Let go, then you will see –

"The keys stay up, they do not fall,
The other hand is there;
Same with temptations great or small –
That's how I show my care."

A power greater than I am
Exists, and pours out love;
God of my understanding can
Grace me to life above –

My greatest hope, request, or dream;
Thank God through Christ His Son!
Freed from the weakness found in me,
Graced victory's been won!
