The Task

The Apostolic task I say
(from Echoland I’ve made my way),
Is to the giver-finance types;
It took a while to get that right.

Re-integration of that gift,
Made necessary by the rift
Way back in Babel days of yore,
When we all split to groups – before –

Old Abraham found Promised Land
(A giver-type we understand,
Who had to learn restraint to show,
That he might balanced-living know).

Society ’round here today –
Obsessed it is with giver’s way;
That group hijacked economy;
Outside of body-life they see –

Themselves as winners of the race;
To other gifts they make their case,
“Ha-ha – your end of boat goes down,
Much higher we – just look around.”

But we are all inside one ship,
Titanic-like, just think of it –
If we get wet, we all go down –
Imperative a way be found –

To put us all back on one page;
That’s why this task I now engage –
To reconcile these clashing gifts,
Build bridge across this global rift.

Keys of the kingdom (how life’s done
Within each culture), here’s the one
For giver-gift – the crop’s the thing –
Plant words and acts – see what that brings.

Encouragers – they inter-act,
Their kingdom-key is that, in fact;
Administrators structured are,
A structured key works there by far.

The key for teacher-types is thought;
Sequential logic; what’s been taught
By experts in a given field;
With that approach they sometimes yield.

Compassionate folks need friendship’s key,
Use soft approach, at end you'll see
The stronghold yield, and arms fling out,
A joyous scene without a doubt.

The server’s key’s tradition, man;
Work long and hard; they understand
That’s how life works for everyone –
From dawn to dusk, don’t stop 'till done.

Perceivers need to know the score
Of justice done – they can’t ignore
That factor in the things they do,
That is their key to something new.

Thus for each group there is a key,
To open doors and set folks free;
Each culture can be viewed as mix
Of preferential-locus gifts.

My task is stitching gift-types in
To body life, that all might win;
For by ourselves the boat goes down;
So I plant seeds deep under-ground.
