Principle #2 Of 10 – Stewardship

We sometimes think that faithfulness is what it takes to please
Almighty God, then one day while in prayer upon our knees
We come to see that’s not quite right – our way is blocked indeed
While we are impelled to persevere – take up some human need.

And then, perhaps when sleep still lingers 'fore the coming dawn
He asks, “is that your final answer there – the road you’re on?
I gave resource, connections, family, training, led you here,
Equipped your life for taking on this task – and made it clear.

“I want it done – the process to my thinking matters not –
Just look – creative ways, resourcefulness is what you’ve got;
Select a route which works for you – today take up your quest;
I’ll help you see the parts you need – just leave the rest.”

We bring to bear all that we have, and are, to do our tasks;
When we run dry, we turn to God upon our knees and ask,
“Help me to see; bring others who can show me what to do,
Or through Your Word show ways for me to find my way in You.”

That’s how it starts – sometimes our questing road quite simple seems,
But there we learn its detailed nature – what the problem means;
Then, looking back, we covet quiet days before the wall
In faithfulness – with bleeding, pounding fists, despite the stall.
