Principle #1 Of 10 – Guidance

Guidance takes a lot of forms,
And rarely fits the social norms;
For God will not be structured in
To ways of man (because of sin).

For what He wants is liberty
For us, not Him; and once we see
That He’s already free and shows
The upward path where we should go –

We come to see He’s just not proud –
Speaks indirect; as soft or loud;
Through people in our day’s events;
Or through the Word; in circumstance.

When we ask questions He will guide –
Some parts reveal, and others hide;
For we must see, yet walk by faith;
We bumble on empowered by grace.

Sometimes we choose, He intervenes,
Says, “How ’bout this?” (Which better seems)
Thus changing all of life for us,
Supporting through ensuing fuss.

Then others interact and move
To do their tasks (we don’t approve);
He laughs and opens up new ways
For us to grow through other days.

Of course His Word – that precious Book
He uses if we’ll stop and look;
He springs to life some words or phrase,
Says quietly, “That’s for your case”.

That’s not the full, the end of it;
That’s just a start, but as we fit
Into His ways as they unfold,
His guiding words are precious gold.
