Pyramid Peak

There’s a change which overtakes us as we each live out our day,
And our parents pass beyond us – there’s a shift which then takes place:
We’re the older generation; of the pyramid, its peak;
And the coming generation turns to us and wisdom seeks.

As the ships which ply the river all decked out with fancy sails,
Are supported by the river, rudders held amidst the gale,
All our children and grandchildren use this fact to get their start,
When mature they take our places, wisdom to their kids impart.

So don’t worry ’bout your siblings, where you placed amidst the pack,
Just prepare for parents’ parting, they’ll be leaving after that;
For each sibling is a topper of their structure made of stone,
And your pyramid’s whopper – keep your focus in your home.
