The Crash

Some people get alarmed and freak
When virus, Trojans, malware sneaks
Into computer's main machine
And wipe internal workings clean.

I must admit annoyance – right –
And shift of time from days and nights
Of labour saved on project work
To mopping up from cyber-jerk.

But hey! That's just a part of life;
I chug along with kids and wife;
Back up, print off, and do my best;
And after that release the rest.

It's great when we just cruise along,
As if there's nothing can go wrong;
But really, we know that's not true,
So we let go – enjoy the cruise.

Perhaps the geeks can fix it up,
Recover all my unsaved stuff;
(Not much this time, but just the same
It interrupts my cruising game).

Just like a fire in the house:
One says, "Our family all got out,
So what's my problem anyway?
Like cancer time – a brand new day.

"Put most of what you want to keep
In heaven", Jesus said one week,
"For thieves break in and steal your stuff,
That way you'll always have enough –

" ’Cause what's important in this life
Is quite beyond all local strife;
Lift up your eyes beyond your whirl;
Live now your life in heaven's world."

So, Lord, with loads removed from me,
And trust returned once more to Thee,
I seek what's there for me to see,
And seeing, move to closer be.

Thanks Lord for Your assuring word
In midst of this, when it was heard
That "Life still works, like yesterday,
So lighten up – it's time for play".

Your word, to "grasp with firmness now,
The beauty of this life" somehow,
Was good – like petrol in my tank,
When ‘Documents' appeared quite blank.

I saw at river's edge, in woods,
A beaver dam; three deer that stood
Just grazing on the grass and leaves –
Just like my heart – they were at peace.

It's not so much what I behold,
But rather, whether I'm still bold
Within the context of this strife,
Which seems a part of normal life.

Lord, that's a stretch for me these days,
As I return to worldly ways
Of doing life like other folks –
And see in life good-hearted jokes.

Thanks.
