Four Questions: Number One – Are You Exceptional?
Four questions I heard Louis ask
(Of which three queries set the task,
As players set a volleyball),
In education’s hallowed halls:‘Exception’ formed the base of first:
“Do you excel, surpass the worst?
Do others see in you the best
In skill, and wisdom, life, and zest?“As teacher – are you best of class?
Do students say of you, “At last
I’ve found through him a way to learn,
A ray of hope that I can earn”?“As sailor – are you best of class?
Do other sailing racers ask,
‘How do you do it – win again
In Georgian Bay or Spanish Main?’“As father – are you best of class?
Do children growing daily ask,
‘Can I do this or that with you?’
Your ‘yes’ then as good fortune view?“As husband – are you best of class?
‘The best’ in eyes of your sweet lass?
Excitement rippling through her more,
As you come home through your front door?“Church member – are you best of class?
Support the leaders to the last?
Do justice? Mercy love? And walk
The humble road, in deeds and talk?”So off the top, first question is,
“Do you excel in living biz?
When people pass do they exclaim,
‘With excellence equate his name’?”navigation
