“Thank You, Ma’am, For Kind-ness”

I love your kind of ministry, what kind in fact is it?
The kind where skillful gentleness sees fault and lets it sit;
Not just the fault where wrong was done, but fault in earthquake zone –
You see what’s clearly breakable – leave well enough alone.

I like the way you move around the wards where broken minds
No longer function as they should, where sighted-folks are blind;
Your great respect for dignity each human being holds,
Respect which other folks reserve for diamonds, silver, gold.

Like in your exit interview where you could say your piece,
You did, and yet in manner kind you gave to each release;
Now as you move along in life, fresh challenge now take up,
You demonstrate you know Christ’s words of ‘broken bread’, and ‘cup’.

I love the way, when morning broke, God’s Word right in-your-face,
The past, which was so meaningful, you dropped to now embrace
A future and a hope for you, fresh as the morning dew;
It seems God knows what kindness flows to other folks through you.
