When Easter Breaks

When Easter breaks, O blessed morn,
(My favorite day since I was born),
I think of all these days of life,
Of how You helped me on in life.

Lord, from the days before my birth,
Through early childhood’s tears and mirth,
And days of tumult, 60’s teen –
To days of call – my life has been –

A time when You prepared this man,
To do a task which no-one can
Without Your grace ahead of time;
A base You laid for life that’s mine.

Through adult years You brought to me
Resource for living, help me be
The man you had in mind at first,
As each restraint in life You burst.

As years crept by, You fed me well;
You’ve graced my days through living hell;
Not slacking off, so I might learn
New lessons where each pathway turned.

Lord, as I face this coming week,
Help me to ask, to knock, to seek,
That such resource as others need,
Might flow from You, their lives to feed.

Help Wisdom’s ways in me be found;
Help me within Your joy abound;
That all might thrive, and end the week,
Graced by the things which now they seek.

I’m hearing Lord, “Return to church,
Their lives are stuck – they’re in a lurch;
For as you’re fed, so too I’ll feed –
Setting them free – I’ll meet their need.

Stu, there’s a place for artists too;
You know you’re one, My love for you
Exceeds the bounds of social way –
I long to lead you in that play.

“Now photos take, go shoot some pix;
Eight hours a day, let camera’s clicks
Resound as you fulfill My word,
Which years before from Me you heard.

“Now make the shift – that sharp right turn –
Making your pix; your skills now learn;
Salt for their porridge, leaven for bread,
Your wish fulfilled – by me be led.

Okay, O Lord, I’ll go Your route,
Your photos take within that group;
I’ll take Your word and live it out,
Setting aside my faith-less doubt.

Thanks.
