Preparation
‘Preparation’ – there’s a word I like to hear;
What the church did – when my end of school was near:
Gave us choices – what’s the thing you need the most?
We will fund it – say the word, we’ll be the host.I said, ‘typing’ – every morning, nine till noon;
Introduction – to corrections, afternoons;
I’d be happy – six weeks work along those lines,
I’d be ready – set me on the course that’s mine.So I did it – ‘J-J-H-Space...” my routine;
Met the chaplain – showed me everywhere he’d been:
Social workers – judges, lawyers, and police,
Then probation, wove a picture piece by piece.Interviewed them – ask them what they do each day;
View of churches – if they knew a better way;
Open question – then two leads to snowball on –
Precious people – moved my ministry along.navigation
