Life-Now-Like-And See

Of all these poems done to date,
Which vary much from low to great,
Four words stand out as mostly used,
From all the words which I might choose.

The first is ‘life’– both groups of words –
From cancer-land that theme was heard,
As in this later poetry –
It’s life – the theme which interests me.

Not ‘later’, or ‘someday’, but ‘now’–
Life in the present tense is how
I like to live – when possible;
Tomorrow's inconceivable.

I ‘like’ a lot and mostly like,
From when I was a little tyke;
For life is good despite the pain
When we fall flat, bounce back again.

And ‘see’– that’s good for photo-type –
Not ‘show’, but ‘see’ – when folks shift right
Amidst their messed up nests and turf –
‘Like’ ‘now’ to ‘see’ their ‘life’ on Earth.
