I Corinthians 12:4-6

Okay, let's take it piece by piece,
So you might from my e-mail seize
Some truth – I'll give my thoughts some air,
Then you can with your own compare.

I like a poem now and then,
It opens up my thought for when
Some friend or stranger happens 'round –
Gives room to think, so truth is found.

I think King David thought like me,
Conveyed his thought in poetry,
For it's concise, yet gives some air –
Some space for us to say a prayer.

That's true of prose of course, as well,
For stories we all love to tell,
And hear from others in our land –
For in a yarn we understand.

Take "Money Ball" that Oscar Flick,
A parable where each can pick
The part which speaks to them within
The context of their world of sin:

One person hears, "Behind the time";
Another, "His approach is mine";
Another, "There's just one more case
Of smart-ass kids who wreck the place."

As Paul said: "Spirit gives the gift,
Which makes a poem, sermon rich;
Then Jesus, Son, says "Talk on this";
Which lets The Father hit that pitch.

So preacher speaks his words to all,
Or writer writes a tale quite tall;
Then Father in each reader's heart,
Selects for each their place to start.

Perhaps my e-mail had no air,
No place where you could tarry there,
And give God time to bring to life
His words for you within your strife.
