Santa’s Gifts
The story told to us before,
Had Santa Claus, whom kids adore,
With server-elves within his shop,
A wife behind – that's what he's got.For he's the nice guy in the sky,
Who rides his snow-sled very high;
And slips surrounded just after ten,
To hand out presents yet again.Is Santa Claus a giver-type?
Who has to get each gift just right?
An upside-giver's what I mean –
No strings attached? Who gives unseen?Does he encourage with his gifts?
Patch over holes? And mend the rifts
Between old friends who drift apart?
An expert in compassion's art?Does he give out without a care
For who is whom, and what is where?
Are gifts for all, or just the rich?
No gifts when family's in the ditch?Is Santa Claus a teacher-type,
Who gives out books to make things right?
If downside, he'd not hesitate
To use his gifts to set kids straight.If Santa lived his life to serve
He'd work quite hard and never swerve
From his routine, just shrug and say,
"Relax – it's always been this way."Administrator? Maybe yes,
But lower down, would be my guess;
While Mrs. Santa rules the roost –
The way she gives her guy a boost.Perceiver side could be there too,
Are Santa Claus and God the same?
The naughty-nice part – isn't fooled;
(But in the end, indulgent he,
With "Ho-ho-ho” and “Goodness-me”).
Was that 'The Word' when Jesus came?
Is he a wimp who does not fight?
Stay uninvolved – when things aren't right?Does God go out as we grow up,
Like pixie-dust and Santa stuff?
Within this mish-mash listen close –
You'll hear where folks are gifted most.navigation
