Grace Ahead

I walk this road, not one I chose,
A road quite strange for it arose;
I stumbled ’round and slowly grew,
This man whom others know as ‘Stu’.

Lord, you know well my faithless heart,
As on this trail I now embark;
Without your Grace I cannot stand,
Extend to me your outstretched hand.

If down this road You bid me know
What You desire that I should show,
Experiential is my way
Of learning life – with You, okay.

Your Grace has closed my eyes and yet
You opened them, that I might get
New views of life I had not seen,
As over trails of life I've been.

No different now – apart from Grace
I journey on without disgrace;
If You are guide, I take your hand;
I'll safely come to understand.

The risk is high, it’s ultimate;
Rewards are great if now I fit
Within your plan – Your Word fulfilled,
Your Grace to me ’fore I be killed.

I had not thought this as the way
You showed to me that April day;
I venture on, strength insecure,
But in Your guidance doubly sure.

Thanks.
