Transcendence – The Final Stage Of Change

So long it's been since I was there,
I can't recall, I can't compare,
Except to say the choice was good,
Though ways of life not understood.

Life is a risk – we take a chance;
It's full of hope and high romance;
And now as I look back to see,
'Twas Grace and friends who carried me.

My role in life, now I've moved on,
Is patriarch, the struggle gone;
You think I glow here in the dark,
Perhaps – the first was just a spark.

So, look at me, if look you must,
But ask around of peers you trust,
For they are closer to your stage,
It's fresh for them, learn from their ways.

You'll be an Elder too someday,
If choice you'll make, and steps you'll take;
Transcendence comes as time moves on,
Start out today ’fore chance is gone.
